“A List to Live By”
Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. – Psalm 119:49
So much in our world has changed within the last year and even as we’ve started a brand new one the uncertainties of the past twelve months are still with us. Last year I’m confident some or the most of us experienced moments of overwhelming hopelessness and discouragement due to a diverse set of circumstances. Even so, it would seem no matter how dark and bleak our world becomes something within our spirit responds with hope in a new beginning…a second chance to do it right this time. Because of this many of us feel encouraged to compile a list of goals we fervently and enthusiastically believe can be accomplished in the next twelve months.
Now to be honest, for as long as I can remember, I’ve made a list for just about everything. Truthfully, it has never taken the start of a new year to awaken my need for list making. I’m convinced my whole functioning system would undergo a total break-down if this privilege were to be taken away! It’s ok if you aren’t a die hard list maker like me…but if you’ve ever jotted down a grocery or shopping list and left it at home, then you realize the importance of it.
On a more serious note, penning a list to live by and following it not only has eternal consequences, but renews and grows “Hope” in your heart that change is really possible. My complete purpose for writing about this sort of list is to inspire and motivate you to just give it a try. You can rest assured it is not a time wasting occupation if living a fruitful and joyful Christian life is your goal!
Below you will see a few areas listed from off my own personal “List to Live By” and my earnest prayer is that you will be challenged to make one of your own this year. I promise you, “If Applied”, this type of list will nourish your soul, deepen your walk with the Lord, transform your entire world, give you a reason to hope, and will cause your life to glorify God.
