Scripture speaks of "Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth to the things before us." (Philippians 3:13,14) I believe the emphasis is that of going forward and not backward. We are challenged to press on in an hour that the past beckons us to live in the thoughts of yesterday. Yesterday can be a deadly tool in the hand of Satan to cause us to sink and drown into past failures and quilts. It is so easy to become stuck in the mud of regrets and despair as we are striving to move ahead during troublesome times.
Let me remind you that Christ is the Lord of yesterday, today and yes, forever. He definitely it all in the palm of his hand. My prayer for you is that God will grant us the grace to heal the wounds of the past and the courage to look expectantly to the days before us in 2006, as we live in the light of Christ's coming. Please remember to always focus on the future when the present seems difficult.
