Prayer Still Works
Prayer should be used as more than a filler of time in our lives. It should be more than a desperate plea for help in time of trouble or want. Prayer is a personal invitation into the presence of Almighty God, which He has extended to anyone who will repent of his or her sins. Prayer is a privilege given to us, which sometimes we fail to exercise in seizing this moment of opportunity.
I Chronicles 16:11 says, "Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face evermore!" We are exhorted to seek Him and discover His strength for needful challenges of our lives.
Psalms 4:3 tells us, "But know that the Lord has set apart him that is Godly for himself; the Lord will hear when I call unto him." What an amazing thought! God listens when we call on Him if our lives are being lived by faith and while seeking to be in His righteousness or godliness. To be set apart for Him is an awesome thought! Just think about it. God would not even destroy Sodom and Gomorrah without first talking it over with Abraham. Why? Because Abraham had in prayer, sought for the deliverance of Lot his nephew from that wicked place. Maybe we all should spend more time in prayer interceding for the needs of those we love.
Prayer still works!
